#1) what happens on Earth stays on Earth
這句話也有出現在ELEMENT.及FEAR.，可以聯想到的句子是拉斯維加斯有名的 “What happens on Vegas stays in Vegas.”表達不需要將在拉斯維加斯的瘋狂行為帶回現實生活，而這句可能多加上了聖經提摩太前書6:7「我們沒有帶什麼到世上來，也不能帶什麼去」的意義。Kendrick在下面影片的訪談提到原本有考慮以此為專輯名稱。
#2) We gon' put it in reverse
整張專輯有好幾次的倒轉，例如Layalty取樣自24K Magic的倒轉、FEAR.的開頭、及這首的最後。也許這就是這張專輯的概念，像是這首歌的故事一樣回顧一個人的過去，還有 “Reverse the manifest and good karma”，因為一個不同的選擇而逆轉了一個人的命運。下面的影片可以聽聽看幾段歌曲在專輯中以及未倒轉前聽起來的樣子。

#4) Nickerson Garden projects

#5) quarter pieces
指的是四分之一盎司(a quarter)為一小包的古柯鹼，並以此代稱古柯鹼。

A brick(磚塊)或是bird都是泛稱一公斤的古柯鹼，要價可高達兩萬四美元(約70萬台幣)。可看出Anthony在幫派的地位變高、毒品買賣更大手筆。

5.0指的是野馬的其中一款車型Ford Mustang 5.0。5-0則是代稱警察。

Kendrick Lamar隸屬的經紀公司是Top Dawg Entertainment，創辦人為Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith，就是他簽下年僅15歲的Kendrick開啟他的饒舌生涯。Kendrick的爸爸名叫Kenny Duckworth，綽號Ducky。到這時揭露了這首歌的兩位主人翁Anthony和Ducky就是他的老闆和他的爸爸。下圖是Kendrick和Anthony Top Dawg。

經過倒轉後回到這句，專輯第一首歌BLOOD.的開頭。
一個Genius留言的GIF完全表達我聽完時的心情。
Anthony就是Kendrick的老闆Top Dawg，Ducky就是Kendrick的爸爸Kenny Duckworth，Top Dawg曾經搶劫Kendrick爸爸待的店，但因為Kendrick爸對他很好所以沒有殺他，因此爸爸才能活著回家、養育Kendrick平安長大成人，而Top Dawg因此沒有在監獄待一輩子，才能成立TDE、簽下Kendrick開創了他的事業。如果事情不是這樣發生，Kendrick的人生會是多麼不同，不用說有沒有被發掘了，沒有父親陪伴的人生，很可能就是步入幫派死在街頭。人生就是比電影精彩，Ducky的善心、Anthony的懸崖勒馬，一個決定影響了彼此的一生，也成就了Kendrick Lamar，難怪這首歌要叫DUCKWORTH.，這是他的起源故事啊！
這張專輯叫做《DAMN.》，是指「詛咒、譴責」，這張專輯可以一直看到這個詛咒的概念存在，例如FEAR.的電話中所說的「神的懲罰」、DNA.中源自血液中無法消除的幫派因子、DUCKWORTH.中住在街頭的人們無可避免地被捲入幫派鬥爭... 而在這首歌就提到了這兩個人的抉擇改變了他們的人生、破除了被詛咒的輪迴，以及多次提到的"wicked or weakness"(邪惡與孱弱)的命運。
這個故事Kendrick與Top Dawg都證實是真的，而且Kendrick知道這件事並不是聽說了就馬上大聲嚷嚷炒新聞，而是等到了最佳時機，一直到第四張錄音室專輯才告訴世人這個離奇的故事，並再度完美地串接起整張專輯。
這次葛萊美Kendrick再度全掃所有饒舌獎項！可惜還是沒有年度專輯啊唉唉唉唉唉我真的覺得這張很棒啊。以下Kendrick在本次葛萊美的現場表演，每次都令人目瞪口呆地精彩。
